This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

Simply adorable!!
I love the last pic: where can Kiba be? Super sweet.
Kiba reminds me of my Sammy's puppy days soooo much. The same goofy expressions in the teenage. haha.
Hi Kibi: You've grown. Are you now naughtier or good?
Naughtier, much. He tears book covers now. Also tried to gouge my eye out with his paw. How are you? Come and visit the hoodlums some time.
Can an INDog survive on complete veg food?
I'm sure some do in places where they don't get non-veg, possibly in some parts of Gujarat. But I don't know anything about the long-term health and life-span of vegetarian INDogs. When scavenging they seem to prefer non-veg. Probably even village dogs fed on veg food would be able to find some meat for themselves, by hunting rodents or foraging for dead things.
unfortunately we do not cook non-veg in home. And there is fish market near my house. Last time i had a kitten. when it got a taste of fish, It never returned...so i am worried. I dont want my pet to live like a scavenger...
Another question....After how many days of birth a puppy can be seperated from its mum and brought to home...?
You should try to give boiled eggs sometimes at least. Or get a good quality packaged food.
Cats are obligate carnivores. If your kitten had stayed with you and had only veg food, s/he would have suffered serious health problems including perhaps blindness through taurine deficiency.
Ideally a pup should not be separated from its mother till age 2 months at least. They get immunity to a lot of things from their mother's milk. I took Kiba from his mom at 1 month, because they were next to a highway and there was a high risk of the pups getting killed. But I believe he has lower immunity as a result.
as you told we can not wait for 2 months. There is no guarantee that it will survive till then. And even it may turn into pakka street dog in that period...
Pups won't turn into anything by the age of 2 months :) You can change their behaviour until the age of 4 or 5 months. Even later. In fact I adopted Kimaya when she was 5 months and she became a perfect pet dog though she had never been handled by humans till adoption.
