About Me

My photo

I'm a landrace dog fancier. Founder of the INDog Project (www.indog.co.in) and the INDog Club. Before that, I worked with urban free-ranging dogs of Mumbai from 1993-2007. Also a spider enthusiast and amateur arachnologist.

This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

Dear Rajashree,

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Blogger was down all of yesterday.

It was all too sudden and too soon for Lalee to leave. But YOU know, as I do, that with time, tears will give way to happier memories and the years you had with your red dog. THAT, no one can ever take away from you.

Until then, much love and a big hug xox

I'm sorry that I am discovering your beautiful blog at such a sad time. I want to tell you that I am sad for your broken heart. You are in good company with all that have had this heartbreak, and I hope that you can feel our affection for you. Our puppies and kitties touch us in such a special place. Lalee was so beautiful! and fortunate that you both got to love each other.

Rajashree, I'm so incredibly sorry to hear about Lalee's passing. She was truly blessed to have you in her life and I know she'll be sorely, sorely missed.

REQUEST FROM RAINBOW BRIDGE:

"Weep not for me, though I am gone into that gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long, upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest. There's no need for tears. For with your love, I was so blessed for all those many years. There's no pain, I suffer not. The fear now is all gone. Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your heart and memory, I live on. Remember not my fight for breath, remember not the strife. Please do not dwell upon my death, but celebrate my life."

Sincerely,

Just found your site while looking up Pariah Dogs and saw your post.
I think the hardest part of have a dog is knowing one day you have to say goodbye. Sorry for loss

Thank you all for the kind messages. It does bring some comfort to hear from others who have been through the same thing. You know one has those top two or three dreaded "worst things that can happen" - well one of them has happened now. I can't bear to take her leash and collar out of my handbag. And I have other little things she wore, like the muzzle we used at the vet's, and a silver pendant on a ribbon. As long as I keep them near me I feel a little bit of her is still here. I guess I'll be be locked up in some sort of institution if I go on like this, but I can't help it.

Lalee's eyes are so soulful. I think it is way too much that you had to say goodbye to Bandra first, then to Puppy, and now to Lalee as well. Wish you strength.

Rajashree, I am so sorry to see this sad news. This makes me really sad, I am thinking of you!

Thanks Minna, Veera and Nicole. I was feeling so proud that Lalee had fought off tick fever on her own - and then she develops a fatal allergy to cement. I was going to text you Nicole, but wasn't sure if you still have the same number. Lalee and Bandra were both guests at your house while Deepa was still in India. The pics are in this blog somewhere.

Dear Rajashree
the number is still the same and finally, finally, it works to post comments on your blog. I remember your visit as it was yesterday and also the beautiful place where Lalee and Bandra could spend so many happy days. I am sure, Deepa still remebers both of them and I am glad she had the chance to meet them.
I know how much you loved Lalee and if I tell you that I can imagine how you must be feeling now, it would be a lie. Actually, the thought of loosing one of my dogs is just so unthinkable...
I'll always remember Lalee and thinking of you! Love, Nicole
