I'm a landrace dog fancier. Founder of the INDog Project (www.indog.co.in) and the INDog Club. Before that, I worked with urban free-ranging dogs of Mumbai from 1993-2007. Also a spider enthusiast and amateur arachnologist.

This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

Blacky jumps the bars

One city dog who never gets bored is Manik Godbole's Blacky. His owner keeps him busy learning new tricks, so he never gets stuck in a rut. Dogs benefit from new activities and mental stimuli as much as humans do, after all...though we don't realize it most of the time.

I love this picture of him jumping over bars on their building terrace.

Hi All! it would be unjust, if only blacky is appreciated for jumping over the bars, actually, tommy starts jumping over them the moment i assemble them, and he is so frisky that, inspite of all attempts by myself and my sis, we could not catch him on camera!!we clicked photos wherein he is abt to jump or has already completed the jump! blacky does it slowly so we could get his snaps fortunately.try them for ur pooches and they will surely enjoy! regards, manik.

It's a great idea. How did you get them to jump? I've taught Lalee to come when she's called, sit still for photos and not chase other dogs, but otherwise she's practically uneducated!
