About Me

Mumbai, India
I'm a landrace dog fancier. Founder of the INDog Project (www.indog.co.in) and the INDog Club. Before that, I worked with urban free-ranging dogs of Mumbai from 1993-2007. Also a spider enthusiast and amateur arachnologist.

This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

Tolly Club dogs: Frowners a.k.a. Fudge

More on the privileged dogs at Tollygunge Club, Kolkata. This is Frowners, who was given this name by our friend Pupul because of his frown lines (see Nikhil Rawal's picture of him in the previous post). He was later given the name Fudge.

These pictures were taken by my husband Kiran a couple of months ago.

As in many clubs in India, there was some dispute among members here as to whether or not the resident dogs should be allowed to remain. Luckily these dogs have quite a number of fans, so they continue to grace the august institution as before!

Canid lovers will be interested to know that Tolly Club is also host to a pack of jackals.
