In February this year, Devraj and Preeti Khare found an adorable little pup in the slum behind their house. He had a bad wound on his head with maggots in it.
They took him to a vet for treatment. The vet advised them to keep him at home for a week.
Instead the Khares decided to make him a permanent member of their family. And here's how he looked after healing up, thanks to their care.
Fast forward to the present: A handsome grown-up Phantom

This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

they take great care of him. phantom is their baby not a pet. they've trained him very well.
He looks like a real darling. All our dogs are our babies. The nicest thing about doing this blog is I get to know so many kind people like the Khares. In the middle of all the horrible cruelty stories we read daily, it's a relief to remember that there are good people around as well.
It's great to read about Phantom's story. He was such a cute puppy.
Good to see compassionate and kind people like the Khares adopting Indies and letting their sofas get taken over :).
He's really a darling... he was like a small baby who would fit in my palms when he was a small kid n now he's a grown up baby....
Phantom Love you... n i miss you... hope to see u soon..... :)
