About Me

Mumbai, India
I'm a landrace dog fancier. Founder of the INDog Project (www.indog.co.in) and the INDog Club. Before that, I worked with urban free-ranging dogs of Mumbai from 1993-2007. Also a spider enthusiast and amateur arachnologist.

This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

Rupa and Ja bi

Ja bi is a gorgeous and pure Korean Jindo. And Rupa is a gorgeous INDog-mix rescue from Delhi. Both belong to pariah dog fan Sharon Squires. They live on a lovely farm in the US in a multi-species family!

Rupa is a recent addition but she quickly became friends with the resident queen Ja bi, as you can see from the photos. I particularly like the play fight and also the winter snaps - I always love those snow pics!

Sharon says Rupa makes enormous efforts to fit in with her new family, watching everyone carefully and changing her behaviour to please her 'pack'. Typical adaptable Indy! And a VERY lucky little girl, swapping the Delhi streets for these huge fields and woods. If I were religious I'd start believing in karma or something.
