This blog is for primitive dog enthusiasts. It is part of the INDog Project www.indog.co.in. Only INDogs (India's primitive indigenous village dogs) and INDog-mixes (Indies) are featured here. The two are NOT the same, do please read the text on the right to understand the difference. Our aim: to create awareness about the primitive landrace village dog of the Indian subcontinent. I sometimes feature other landrace breeds too. Also see padsociety.org

Nero
It's been a month since little Nero joined the Kovuri family. We don't know whether he's an INDog or an INDog-mix, and honestly it doesn't matter! What we do know is that he's a smart and beautiful little dog!
Proud owner Mallik tells us about his adoption:
"I was passionate about adopting a pure Indian breed dog. I strongly believe that many things of and in India are better than the rest of the world.
"But influenced by a radio program on stray dogs, and further by an article on Blue Cross, we decided we will rather help a puppy in need than insist on a pure Indian breed. So we made a few rounds with family to Blue Cross of Hyderabad and picked a puppy that gave us instant liking, while we were unable to decide on one agreeable to all members of my family.
"This nice cute furry shiny brown puppy wagging its back and racing on to the visitor's area caught our immediate attention.
"We brought him home happily!"
