We start this year on a healthy note, with Lalee and Kimaya munching on a bush in Nagaon. I'm not too good at botany but I think it's the tulsi (Holy Basil) that grows wild in my aunt's plantation next to our house.
Lalee is out of focus in the second picture, but Kimaya looks so sweet I posted it anyway.
Happy New Year to all INDogs (and other dogs) - with best wishes from my three pups and me.

Happy new year to you and the pups too!Why do pups chew plants? Pico likes to chew hibiscus leaves.
@June: Happy New Year! I think they eat grass and leaves when their digestion isn't quite okay...not sure though, I have to find out more about this. Lalee and Kimaya eat leaves regularly but Bandra eats them only when he's feeling a bit sick
hi! tommy and chinky eat hibiscus leaves. i had read somewhere dogs eat leaves when they lack chlorophyll or the 'greens'.tommy's vet warns though, that many insects lay their eggs and larvae underside of the leaves which can cause problem, so i wash it and give them, i also give actual grass blades(after washing with water). chinmayi's cats and dog eat 'lemon grass'?the blades of this grass are so sharp!!
Kimaya eats hibiscus too but Lalee prefers tulsi and lantana. I read somewhere that hibiscus and lantana are toxic for dogs but I really don't know if that is correct since lots of dogs seem to eat them and they don't show any symptoms afterwards. My dogs eat grass off the lawn.
